Israeli airstrike targeting Hamas military chief kills at least 90
An Israeli airstrike killed at least 90 Palestinian civilians in a designated humanitarian zone in Gaza, the Hamas-run health ministry said Saturday, in an attack that targeted Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday it remained unclear whether Deif and another commander had been killed but promised to continue to target Hamas leadership.
Meanwhile, local officials say Nasser Hospital, one of the largest and few remaining hospitals in the Gaza Strip, is overwhelmed by the influx of civilian casualties and says it is “no longer able to function.”
