Hey everyone!! Here is a "different" kind of video than we normally post, where I reveal 4 times I've been cheated by food challenge restaurants during the past few years of my 10-year career as a professional eater. It's totally mind-boggling to me that someone would fly or drive many hours to help positively promote a restaurant by doing their food challenge to post a video on his or her growing social media, and rather than show appreciation, lol the restaurant cheats the person and screws them over by taking malicious actions to make the challenge way harder than it normally is. This has happened other times, but I have no intention of going back to any of these 4 restaurants, so there is no need to "cover up" or hide their unethical practices. First up, we visit Monse's Pupuseria, a small business that's locally owned and operated. With roots in El Salvadoran culture, their menu boasts authentic and homemade-style dishes made from locally-sourced ingredients.

Next, we stop by Urban Steam American Bistro, Colorado Springs' original craft coffee bar and bistro. Established in 2012, they're known for their in-house roasted coffee and thoughtfully crafted menu featuring many locally-sourced ingredients, as well as vegan and gluten-free options.

On this episode instead of focusing on a specific neighborhood in Denver, we decided to film 5 of our favorite restaurants.

Chop Shop- This location on Colfax is the original of this 3 unit restaurant. They are a chef driven, fast casual restaurant that specializes in worldwide comfort food.

Blue Pan Pizza- We went to the Congress Park location of what many people consider the best pizza in Denver. They also have a location in the Highlands. They are know for Detroit style but I thought the New York Style was just as good.

Aloy Thai Eatery- We got a sneak peek at this soon to open fast casual Thai restaurant in Denver’s Governor’s Park neighborhood. Spoiler alert-it was freaking delicious and is going to be a big hit.

Fire On The Mountain- We visited the Wash Park location of this restaurant known for chicken wings and unique, flavorful sauces. They also have a location in the Highlands.They use only Cage-free, hormone-free, antibiotic-free chicken wings. Fried ‘til crispy. Always fresh, never frozen.

Brothers BBQ- This 6 unit BBQ chain was started by two brothers on Monaco and Lettsdale in 1998. We visited the 6th and Washington location. Don’t miss rib night on Thursdays with $1.99 pork ribs and $2.99 beef ribs.

Jade Palace Chinese Restaurant located in Burnaby, B.C. serves delicious Chinese food in big portions and at reasonable prices. In this video, I got a chance to go in the kitchen and watch the master chefs cook some dishes. The dishes they were cooking include lobster stir fry, spicy chicken wings, steamed whole fish with ginger and green onions, pork and vegetable with wok fried noodles, sweet and sour pork and Shanghai noodles with bbq pork and prawns. Just watching the chefs in actions has helped me improve my Chinese cooking.
I believe this restaurant used to be the Dragon Inn. It was a popular Chinese restaurant many years ago.
The owners are from Hoiping (Kaiping) China, in southern China. Some of the food they serve is very similar to food in Hoiping, China. My parents' roots are from Hoiping, China. I often visit Hoiping and the surrounding areas there. Some of the food in Jade Palace Chinese Restaurant is similar to food served over there.
My mom and I enjoyed some of the Jade Palace Chinese Restaurnt specialties. Whe had the steamed free range chicken with ginger and green onion oil, the melon and pork bones daily soup, the eight precious or eight treasures hot pot, chicken and bitter melon with black bean sauce stir fry and the House Special Chow Mein.
Be sure to watch what I had for dessert. It was the duck egg yoke bao bun, with the liquid centre.
I also got a chance to talk to the restaurant manager Jennifer. I would like to thank her and the kitchen staff for letting me video the cooking action in the kitchen.
If you get a chance, give this restaurant a try. The servings were big, delicious and reasonably priced. I'm a big eater so I usually finish eating everything. But at this restaurant the servings were so large I had to take some food home. I'm not complaining because I got to enjoy their food again the next day. Enjoy!
