Israel’s army chief has told soldiers that air strikes in Lebanon are preparing the ground for them to "enter enemy territory”.

Herzi Halevi told troops: “You hear the jets overhead; we have been striking all day. This is both to prepare the ground for your possible entry and to continue degrading Hezbollah.

"Today, we will continue, we are not stopping; we keep striking and hitting them everywhere. The goal is very clear—to safely return the residents of the north,” he added.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed concern over the "almost hour-on-hour" escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, as he reiterated calls for a ceasefire.

The US and France are also working on ceasefire proposals to resolve the escalating fighting in Lebanon, Israeli sources are quoted as saying by Reuters news agency.

However, no significant progress has been made so far, the officials add.

Советский Союз умирает на глазах, и вместе с предчувствием перемен, свободой слова, музыки и цен появляется и свобода от совести, граничащая с беспределом. Пока родители борются за выживание, брошенные всеми дети сбиваются в уличные стаи и «бьются за асфальт». Бьются в буквальном смысле, чтобы контролировать всё, что стоит на их земле или передвигается по ней. Среди всеобщей нищеты и потерянности взрослого поколения — в молодежных группировках понятные правила жизни, поддержка и слово пацана, которое сильнее клятвы. Но дружба и понятия о справедливости всё больше смешиваются с насилием и криминалом.
Андрей — 14-летний мальчик из интеллигентной семьи, который учится в музыкальной школе и живет с мамой и 5-летней сестрой. Регулярно Андрей сталкивается с прессингом уличных подростков. Чтобы защитить себя, он заводит дружбу с «пацанами». Один из них — 14-летний Марат — становится проводником Андрея и зрителя в сложноустроенный мир улиц.
