During the second day of visiting President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Russia, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about efforts to find a peaceful solution to the war in Ukraine.

He told Putin that a solution "cannot be found on the battlefield ... we have to find peace through talks."

He also said that the death of innocent children in war "shatters your heart and that pain is extremely horrific."

The comment comes a day after a Russian missile struck a children's hospital.

Russia rained missiles on Kyiv and other cities across Ukraine in broad daylight on Monday killing at least 44 civilians in the deadliest wave of air strikes for months.

Es geht um F-16-Jets aus amerikanischer Produktion, die von Dänemark und den Niederlanden bereitgestellt werden. «Das Übergabeverfahren für diese F-16 ist jetzt im Gange, und die Ukraine wird diesen Sommer einsatzbereite F-16 fliegen», hieß es in der Erklärung. «Aus Sicherheitsgründen können wir zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt keine weiteren Einzelheiten bekanntgeben.»

Die Ukraine wehrt seit fast zweieinhalb Jahren eine russische Invasion ab und ist dafür auf ausländische Waffenlieferungen angewiesen. Seit langer Zeit bittet Kiew eindringlich auch um Kampfjets westlicher Bauart, allen voran um die F-16.

On February 24th, Russia launched a military invasion of Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin called it a “special military operation,” but the scale of the attack shows this is a full-scale war that has already caused more than 100 casualties and forced more than half a million Ukrainians to flee their homes.

Ukraine and Russia’s conflict goes back to 2014, when Russia invaded and annexed Crimea and Russian-backed separatist forces took over parts of southeastern Ukraine’s Donbas region. F-16 fighter jets are on their way to Ukraine to aid in Kyiv's defense against Russia, says the White House.

US President Joe Biden has pledged to provide Ukraine with five new strategic air defence systems to counter relentless Russian attacks, in a forceful speech welcoming Nato leaders to Washington DC.

In brief but strongly delivered remarks at the opening of the summit, the president declared the military alliance "more powerful than ever" as it faced a "pivotal moment" in the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Mr Biden said the US would partner with Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Romania to donate Patriot missile batteries and other systems to aid Ukraine, amid growing civilian casualties in the conflict.

Ukraine is systematically destroying Russian air defense in the temporarily occupied Crimea, but is in no hurry to destroy the bridge, Ukrainian military expert Yevgeny Diky told Novinarna in an interview.
“This is not just like that, this is a targeted campaign in which all our branches of the military are involved, under the coordination of the Main Intelligence Directorate. This is such a very strategic operation. We realized last year that the Russians’ air defense is not a carriage. They had enough air defense to cover Moscow, the front line, unfortunately, is very dense, and the Crimean peninsula. And in order to even accomplish this task, they took away the air defense from the Arctic, they took the last S-300 from the Kuril Islands last year. This is something that is impossible during the Soviet Union. “I couldn’t imagine,” said Dikiy.
According to Dikiy, now Ukraine is not destroying the Crimean Bridge, since it has the opportunity to destroy the Russian air defense system.
“What’s happening now, they have a sacred object - the Crimean Bridge. It’s really strategically important - even though we damaged it, the capacity is much less than it was, but it’s not zero. Therefore, it’s very important for them. But it’s also politically important the object is a symbol of Putin's Russia. They are very afraid that we will finish it off, but we have turned it into a bait. We have turned Crimea into such a big Chernobaevka of Russian air defense. We are destroying the air defense that covers the Crimean bridge, but not. We’re hitting the bridge, waiting for the next air defense to arrive,” Dikiy explained.
He added that due to the fact that the Russians are constantly bringing new air defense systems to Crimea, and Ukraine is destroying them, large strategic zones on the territory of the Russian Federation now have problems with cover, which Ukraine is simultaneously using, driving the Kremlin into a trap.
“We use the Crimean Bridge as bait and destroy their air defense on an industrial scale, realizing that it is very endless. And then space opens up for them and our cheap drones fly to airfields, where strategic aircraft for them are destroyed. The Ukrainian Defense Forces may soon have an effective new type of weapon against Russian long-range guided aerial bombs, Ukranian volunteer Serhiy Prytula announced. Analysts from the military portal Defense Express assessed how possible this is.
"There is one specific technical solution that was thought up here in Ukraine. This new type of weapon is currently being tested, and if it is successful, it will be put into production," said Prytula.
Glide bombs are cheap. Russia is firing hundreds a week at Ukrainian targets at and behind the front lines. These bombs are small and difficult to spot on radar. Analysts emphasized that there are currently only a few methods of possible counteraction to Russian glide bombs.

There are also alternative methods of disposal, the portal added:
"Combat lasers or directed microwave radiation. But all this, even in Western countries with gigantic budgets, did not reach the prototype stage, as the British Dragon Fire is an excellent example."
In addition, as analysts noted, UABs can also be countered by jamming their satellite navigation, but it is difficult to call this a final solution.
"Therefore, it is entirely possible that we are talking about other methods of counteraction, the principle of which is not on the surface," the analysts concluded.

Hier haben die Ukrainer die 95. Luftlandebrigade in die Region verlegt, um die Lage zu stabilisieren und die russischen Kräfte durch schnelle Gegenangriffe zu schwächen.
Das Hauptziel der Russen besteht darin, die Frontlinie zu begradigen und eine zweite Vorstoßachse in Richtung Kostyantynivka zu eröffnen, um den stagnierenden Angriff auf Chasiv Yar zu unterstützen. Today there are a lot of updates from the Kharkiv direction.

The most interesting news comes from the area of Lyptsi. Here, the Russians degraded their main offensive forces to the point where the only way to compensate for the losses became the recruitment and deployment of mercenaries from Central Africa and Sri Lanka.

In this region, the Russians are struggling to advance with a limited number of troops, attempting to justify the Kharkiv offensive that has so far failed to achieve its declared objectives. Approximately eight thousand Russian soldiers are engaged in the fighting in Kharkiv, significantly outnumbered by Ukrainian forces by at least three to one. Consequently, the Russians are unable to make headway due to fierce resistance and heavy losses. Without reinforcements, their position in the region is at risk of collapsing.

The Kharkiv front has often been neglected by the Russian command, resulting in a shortage of reinforcements from regular troops. This neglect led to the deployment of foreign mercenaries from Africa, speculated to be associated with the Wagner Group. The Wagner Group previously maintained a substantial presence in Africa, with numerous military instructors and recruitment centers across Central Africa.

However, it turned out that these were African recruits of the Russian army. While they are not part of the Wagner Group, it is highly likely that the Russian army is using Wagner's infrastructure in Africa for recruiting mercenaries. Additionally, many former Wagner fighters have joined the Russian military in units like Storm-Z, suggesting that Wagner instructors in Africa have likely participated in organizing the African Corps.

The Russian government is actively trying to attract individuals from Africa and developing nations by offering a monthly salary of two thousand two hundred dollars, health insurance, and Russian citizenship for recruits and their families. This offer is highly appealing to many people from underdeveloped regions, such as Burundi, Congo, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, where the average monthly income ranges from fifteen to fifty dollars.

The Russian Africa Corps, established in December 2023, comprises around two thousand fighters, including officers, soldiers, experienced mercenaries, and new recruits, many of whom previously served in Wagner. According to British intelligence, the Russian command deployed the Africa Corps to the Belgorod region in April. This deployment was later confirmed by footage from the area.

In one such video, an African mercenary, likely separated from his squad, is detected by a Ukrainian drone. The mercenary helplessly tries to defend himself from the drone using a wooden stick. Such irregular and ineffective actions by foreign mercenaries result from inadequate training and instructions, amplified by a significant language barrier. However, even if we set aside the low quality of African mercenaries, even the deployment of the entire African Corps of two thousand servicemen will still not be enough to hold the lines in the Kharkiv direction. To address the manpower shortage, the Russian army has expanded its recruitment campaign to Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan and Russian delegations, including Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Formin, have met to discuss the involvement of Sri Lankan nationals in the Russian army. It is known that over two hundred Sri Lankans have died in the conflict so far, and ongoing Russian recruitment efforts could attract many more mercenaries. Additional footage confirms the deployment of Sri Lankan mercenaries, including one fighter who was fortunate enough to be captured.

The recent summit between Putin and Kim Jong-Un may indicate further deployment of foreign fighters to the front in Ukraine, particularly in the Kharkiv direction. Although North Korean troops or mercenaries have not been deployed, Russia has used North Korean Hwasong ballistic missiles to strike Kharkiv city. In addition to the missiles, a substantial quantity of artillery shells was supplied to the Russians. However, the quality of these North Korean shells is inferior, as most have been in stock for decades and have become unusable.

PUTINS KRIEG: Russland in Aufruhr! NATO bringt Tomahawks in Stellung! "Reaktionen von ganz oben!"

Russland hat die geplante Stationierung von US-Waffen mit großer Reichweite in Deutschland scharf kritisiert und als Rückkehr in den Kalten Krieg bezeichnet. Kremlsprecher Dmitri Peskow sagte im russischen Staatsfernsehen, dass die Welt auf dem besten Weg zu einem neuen Kalten Krieg sei. Er warf Deutschland, den USA, Frankreich und Großbritannien vor, direkt in den Konflikt um die Ukraine verwickelt zu sein und betonte, dass alle Merkmale des Kalten Krieges, wie Konfrontation und direkte Auseinandersetzung, zurückkehren würden.

Peskow betonte, dass diese Maßnahmen unternommen würden, um Russland strategisch zu schwächen und eine Niederlage auf dem Schlachtfeld zu garantieren. Er rief dazu auf, das reiche Potenzial Russlands zu nutzen, um die Ziele der speziellen Militäroperation in der Ukraine zu erreichen. Ziel dieser Operation sei es unter anderem, eine Nato-Mitgliedschaft der Ukraine zu verhindern.

Am Rande des Nato-Gipfels teilten das Weiße Haus und die Bundesregierung mit, dass ab 2026 erstmals seit dem Kalten Krieg wieder US-Waffensysteme in Deutschland stationiert werden sollen, die bis nach Russland reichen. Geplant ist die Stationierung von Tomahawk-Marschflugkörpern mit einer Reichweite von über 2000 Kilometern, Flugabwehrraketen vom Typ SM-6 und neuen Überschallwaffen. Diese Maßnahmen sollen den Schutz der Nato-Verbündeten in Europa verbessern.

Der frühere russische Präsident Dmitri Medwedew reagierte auf die Ankündigung des Nato-Gipfels, dass der Weg der Ukraine in die Nato unumkehrbar sei, mit der provokativen Aussage, dass in diesem Fall sowohl die Ukraine als auch die Nato verschwinden müssten. Medwedew, der als Vizechef des russischen nationalen Sicherheitsrats fungiert, versucht sich seit Jahren mit besonders harten Aussagen als Hardliner zu profilieren.
